Collecting garage duesCollect what you are owed, and keep the customer.

Where garage dues come from, a follow-up rhythm that works, and the message to send.

Where dues come from

Most garage dues are not bad customers. They are:

  • A part payment at delivery, with the rest promised
  • A regular or a fleet customer who pays at month end
  • A balance nobody wrote down, so nobody followed up

Before the car leaves

Say the balance out loud and record the part payment against the invoice, not in a notebook. The amount still due should be on the bill the customer takes home.

A rhythm that works

  • Same day: send the bill with the balance and how to pay by UPI.
  • Day 3: a short, polite reminder with the invoice number.
  • Day 7: a reminder, then a call.
  • Day 15: a call from the owner.
  • Fleet and regulars: one statement a month, with every open invoice on it.

The message to send

Garage name first, one amount, one way to pay. For example: "Sri Ram Auto: balance ₹3,260 on invoice SAW/2627/0142 for TN 22 AK 0917. Pay by UPI: <link>. Thank you."

Keep one dues list

Sort it by age, oldest first. Check it every evening. A due you look at every day gets collected; one in a notebook gets forgotten.

In Garage Master each payment, cash, UPI or card, is recorded against its invoice, part payments too, and the dues list shows every invoice with money still outstanding.

Your first bay

Start with one garage, one team and the work already on your floor.
